You guys are forgetting something:
Bellsprout. Grass/Poison type. Can evolve twice: first to Weepinbell, then to Victreebel. Creepy looking.

Charmander. Fire type. Evolves to Fire/Flying at Stage 3: Evolves first to Charmeleon, then Charizard. AWESOME LOOKING

Dratini: Dragon type. Evolves into Dragon/Flying type at stage 3.
Not very good-looking, and the shiny form looks worse.

Gyarados: was the first shiny pokemon encountered for many people, with red gyarados being part of the main gen 2 plotline.
