Going to attempt making this and would like feedback.

All: Each need has a maximum capacity equal to its corresponding attribute's base total. The corresponding attribute cannot have its current total be higher than that of its need. Health, Macicka, and Stamina cannot fall below a certain amount depending on the difficulty. It is possible to die of hunger, thirst, or exhaustion in Hardcore mode.

Hunger: Works alongside Health. Replenish Hunger by eating foods. Food weight and condition affect amount replenished. Hunger drops by 1% every 12 in game minutes. Feeding as a Lycanthrope and using Namira's Ring replenish Hunger. Vampires are unaffected by Hunger in any way.

Thirst: Works alongside Magicka. Replenish thirst by drinking liquids such as alcohol or potions. Liquid weight and condition affect amount replenished. Thirst drops by 1% every 6 in game minutes. Lycanthropes are unaffected by Thirst when in beast form. Vampires lose Thirst at a rate of 1% every 1 in game hour and can fully replenish Thirst by feeding.

Energy: Works alongside Stamina. Replenish energy by sleeping. Time slept and bed condition affect amount replenished. Energy drops by 5% every in game hour plus by 10% of Stamina used when lacking a Rested or Well Rested bonus. Being Well Rested reduces Energy lost from Stamina use by 66% and being Rested reduces it by 33%. Lycanthropes don't lose Energy from Stamina use. Vampires lose Energy at 50% the normal rate at night but lose it twice as fast during the day.

Other: Increase the overall usefulness of food and drink in restoring attributes. Food conditions such as raw, cooked, fresh, and stale. Utilize Salt Piles to keep meats and fish fresh in storage. Utilize Ice Wraith Teeth to keep fruit, vegetables, and dairy products fresh in storage. Utilize Frost Salts to do a combination of the two. Liquid conditions such as clear, diluted, and fermented. Bed conditions based on type such as Bed Roll and Bed.

All numbers, percentages, methods, etc. are subject to change and require testing for balance.

Note to self 1: Scale Vampire Energy percentages with Frost and Fire ones respectively?

I think it would make the game a lot more difficult, which is extremely needed once you reach high levels, and I think it's a great idea. Like you were saying, it would add use to these food items making them worth more than simple decorations. Who knows, maybe with this mod followers will be holding nothing but food rather than dragonbones.

However, this is going to need you to work into the factor of coding. If you mess up it could badly damage the game(as in not be able to run, frequent crashes). Another factor in this will be post-creation, will the mod be able to run on steam(I say this because I am unsure if you would try coding with consoles, because that itself is a challenge)? Will the mod be able to work with other mods or will this be standalone? Because there will be some quests that require you to venture into caves/outdoors, will you add bedrolls and other utilities needed to ensure that you don't suffer from exhaustion? Will you also make it so that a campsite is a possibility so that one can rest/eat/etc. Another question is would you incorporate a thirst scale where you can combat thirst at different rates with certain liquids(Like water having a greater amount than ale) and will you add canteens and other items of storing liquids as such?
