A new start, a new team.

Just as soon as my roommate finds her DS I'm going to be sending my Black version team into White so that Black can be reset. And that means a new team!

Something like...

Hmm, all 2-mon evolution lines.

Should I assume you'll be using your starter and such earlier in the game? Because otherwise Munna will be riding solo for a long time.
Otherwise, pretty solid team. I personally never leave the house without a Ground type, but that's just me.

No you should not be assuming that. Although I plan to search the shaking grass in the Dreamyard until I hit that 5% chance of a Musharna. That way it's at least a fully evolved Pokemon riding solo until I can add Deerling to the team.

It is a good team, just be aware Munna/Musharna WILL be alone for quite some time... I would get a few pokemon to fill in the blanks until you can put your whole team together.

That's not how I do things unfortunately.

The only place I imagine Mushy having trouble will be in the Castelia gym anyways, what with all the bugs.

Still, I'm a relatively skilled trainer. I'll pull through.

I forgot about the Cut tree in the dreamyard...

Looks like I'll have to tackle the Stration Gym and Cilan with my Pansear and Oshawott before I ditch them for Mushy.

Finally my team is really starting to fill out. It was just Musharna for a long time with a little backup from Dewott whenever I encountered Dark types since Musharna didn't know any moves capable of hitting them.

Once I hit Driftveil though I was able to grab Deerling and evolve it right away. Then it was those two alone for a little bit. They've gotten extremely strong though and I'm only just reaching Twist Mountain. Musharna's at a level capable of easily taking on some of the E4 Pokemon in fact and I'm only three-quarters of the way through the region.

Just before I finished for today I managed to double my team's number. Since I reached Twist Mountain and got Surf from Alder I backtracked back to Nuvema town and the side routes from it. I caught a Frillish on my way along the water, and I picked up Larvesta's egg, though it's yet to hatch yet.

My team so far:

Wow... Frillish needs some serious leveling-up :)

It's already gained 11 since I caught it, and it'll gain more next time I play. It's actually at a somewhat reasonable level already though. Local wild Pokemon are around 28-30, and local trainers aren't much higher than that. Frillish can contend against them with a little help from type matchups.

As far as training goes, Audino can't hit Frillish with anything except Attract, so it's safe even up against the highest levelled ones I can face. For now it's still underlevelled because I had to put the game away and work on an essay.

Another update! My egg has hatched and the Larvesta training has begun. The little guy is regrettably feeble at this point though, and despite having caught up in level to the local wild Pokemon he still has trouble beating them. I'll probably tackle Twist Mountain soon though. Maybe I'll get Larvesta another 10 levels or so first, and then go in.
