No, I don't think that is really necessary. All that you essentially need to do is beat the Gyms and the Elite Four with Fire types, correct? So you can just swap out a Fire Type whenever Surf or Waterfall is needed.
...Wait, What?

Hmm I suppose you are right :) It'll be a while before I get my second fire type at the beginning of the game  Misty will be really hard, Brock won't be too bad as long as I have metal claw

Asha wrote:I'm considering starting a fire red save using only fire type pokemon, I know the first two gyms will be hard being rock and water, however I feel I will be able to complete the game using just a fire team.

I need a good range of crossing types, ie Charizard can learn fly etc.

I may become stuck when it comes to surfing, waterfall etc any idea on how to combat this?

What would you recommend?
Surfing/Waterfall: l personally think you should use a Pokemon that can learn fire moves
and surf,like Nidoking.

Please breed:
Dratini
Bagon
Mudkip
Axew

Oh, and also remember:People with the most shinies have the most released, too.
