Why is this word censored

G-a-y => gay

I tried to post about them getting erased in this thread and now it reads very poorly:

I even disabled censorship in the user cp and it's still blocked. I don't understand why. It's not a swear word. The only people made uncomfortable by it are bigots. You want to support bigots? If it's censored because of 'sexual content' then straight should be censored as well.

Thanks for bringing that to my attention. Back when the site started I put in place a number of word censors for words that could be used in a derogatory way, "gay" included. I'll remove that one since you brought it up. Keep in mind these are safeguards to prevent kids and people from saying mean things to each other here. Not necessarily because the word is wrong.

Not sure why the word censor option doesn't work as it should, though.
