Shiny hunting in FRLG is exciting since it has the original 1/8192 odds and no method to boost it (besides RNG abuse). Additionally with FRLG on the switch we can finally shiny hunt Dexoys legitimately outside of Pokémon GO.
My plan is to beat FRLG four times so I can quadruple hunt Deoxys and get four Shiny, one for each form.
But my first hunt was to get each starter shiny, and I succeeded with great luck!
Shiny Charmander after 468 seen (1,872 total seen)
Shiny Squirtle after 86 seen (344 total seen)
Shiny Bulbasaur after 1285 seen (5,140 total seen)
Since then I have been playing through FireRed but now I want more shinys! I’ve been purposely grinding to over level my Pokémon and to abuse Pickup, but it also gives me encounters to potentially find a shiny. Hopefully I’ll get lucky and find a shiny during my grinding or maybe even while I complete my Pokédex!
