Fire Red - attempting to complete the game with fire pokemon

No, I don't think that is really necessary. All that you essentially need to do is beat the Gyms and the Elite Four with Fire types, correct? So you can just swap out a Fire Type whenever Surf or Waterfall is needed.

True But they made Potions and such for a reason!

Surfing/Waterfall: l personally think you should use a Pokemon that can learn fire movesAsha wrote:I'm considering starting a fire red save using only fire type pokemon, I know the first two gyms will be hard being rock and water, however I feel I will be able to complete the game using just a fire team.
