Had a few ideas for two rivals
First one: A mandibuzz or a zangoose that wants to be stronger the strongest pokemon and challenges the protagonists to a battle every so often. Also they like to steal stuff and be a big meanie. They have an egotistical and hasty personality and don't like being held back but gets lost very easily.
Quote ideas: "Yahaha! You think you can catch up to a pokemon as strong as me?" "Aiyai!!! How could this happen?!?!" "Forget it! I'll knock you two shlaggles out!"

Second one: A little kid that just wants to catch a cool pokemon to impress his classmates. He's very determined to catch emolga and mincinno and won't give up no matter what. Somewhere near the end of the game you have to save him from mandibuzz/zangoose. After that he decides in order to get a pokemon, he has to be buddies with them and stops trying to catch the two protagonists.

Here is an idea for a rival:
A zapdos. It's slower then emolga and it's the same type.

Might as well do an update again.
The big story for the region has been thought up!!
It pretty much involves two pairs fighting. And a leader Bidoof. Right now I think I can have two rivals? So far I was leaning towards silent rival for the hooman. And I still don't know yet for the pokemon.

This sort of seems boring. Will there be stuff with legendaries and all that? Any gyms?

I do not know yet. So far there hasn't been any post game content thoughten of. I sort of wanted to not have the player beat the game to do the fun things like Karaoke, fishing 2.0, and old man hunting. I'll might talk to Silver about it later and see what gyms and legendarys we get. I do not think there will be gyms though.

I Already got a good map that I like and was gonna work on. Thanks for the idea though! Right now I am focusing character design. And story. And side things.
But there is some things in this map I might wanna use though.

Thank you. Hey what about a side thing where you save a person who is being threatened by a thing/pokemon and when you save it the thing/pokemon who was terrorizing the person and goes on to terrorize someone else and you keep on defeating it until it gives up?

Isn't that just a rival/evil group in the end? Anyways. The next update is that I am now gonna work with the hacking tools and make the first Town! I also started playing Yakuza and I hope I do not get distracted! I also want to make pink trees!
