Writing things down always tend to help with memory. Especially when you go back and read them. Stuff that may have been lost forever is kept.

Yep. And another trick with memory is: the more things you try to remember at once, the less you'll remember. It seems obvious of course, but basically it's a study tip. If you cram you'll likely only remember the beginning and end of the cramming and forget what you went over in the middle, instead start ealy and only study for short bursts, taking breaks in between. For most people, that works better when they need to remember a lot. Like when you've got 4 or 5 exams to do all in the same week.

We did this in psyc as part of an experiment on the subject of learning. It's pretty much all true.

I have never been one for revising for an exam. I came out with 9 GCSE's A*-C without revising, however if I had known about short burst revision sessions then I may have passed the only exam I got a D in. :lol:

@PA: It may help a lot, but based on the way human memory works, it actually works less than studying beforehand with no cramming would.
