I still need to learn to use Photoshop. That requires getting it first though.

but it does involve downloading stuff right? another reason I can't use it is my comp is rather slow due to all the crud I downloaded

It is complicated and scary when you don't know how to use it and lack computer skills.

I'm going to be taught the basics as well as specific skills that I want to learn by a friend once I get it. For now though, nothing.

Then you're lucky you have natural photoshop skills.

Not everyone does. Photoshop is an example of something that I don't know how to do well, and since the built-in tutorials didn't fix that, I actually can't use it until I get somebody to teach me how.

Built-in tutorials are always crap. I only use the ones on the Interwebz
