Serebii has confirmed that Pokémon Let's Go: Eevee and Pikachu will not have Held Items for Pokémon or Abilities.

I'm personally ok with this, considering that the main target demographic for these games are players from Pokémon GO. All the reports of this meaning that the next 2019 games will also not have these complex features seem kinda ridiculous to me, especially since they've stated that those games are meant for more traditional play. Either way, I'm intrigued to see how it works in the games this year.
