So, apparently some awesome people online figured out a way to get the Nintendo Wi-Fi to work again, so old DS games can connect using a proxy, without any hacks or Action Replay! Use the video link to see the current DNS to set your DS to that works.
I'm connected on Pokémon Diamond right now. The GTS works, and I've yet to try out battling, but this is so cool!
Here's a neat site that shows you what Pokémon are in the GTS currently. How awesome. Who's up for a retro battle or trade??

I was hoping something like this would pop up especially after someone was able to add a proxy server for Flipnote Hatena after it was shut down. I have never actually ever traded or battled sine I never had friends with the Pokemon games and by the time m house got WiFi the DS servers were all shut down so I will have to try this!

Kind of like KOBY15, I never really got to do much of trading outside of local trades with a friend on Black/White (but before I kind of found out the friendship wasn't genuine, PM for details because it is rather personal...). I would love to try this and never figured out the DNS/Internet connectivity with the current internet modems and web searches are not very helpful. Regardless, it's cool to see this from fans especially with a lot of other players going back to the older games for nostalgia or because they felt like the newer games were not personally appealing to them. I'll be saving this so I can figure this out and try it for myself as this was on the list for a while now. ^^'
Edit: I have attempted to try and get the router connected to my 3DS but confused as to where to find the WEP key and a search on the web didn't help as the "keys" on the router itself doesn't seem to be correct...

Random mod reviving go.
Growing up I never really did any trades online. Just sort of traded with my sister on pokemon black and white for those stupid genie guys. Eventually I did play sun and moon and gave wondertrading a try. Sure it was fun, but eh you sort of get a lot of the same stuff over and over again.
Then finally I think last year or two years ago, me and @Slix did an online trade in black and white using the thingy this post talks about! He gave me a Japaneses Emogla from his one run and I used that to shiny breed. Hehe.
