I recently just caught an Ursaring while half awake and in my attempt to name him Luke I ended up naming him Luck thinking it was how you spelled Luke. I then realized right after that wasn’t right, which was not good luck at all.

What are some Pokémon you have accidentally named the wrong thing? Or just plain goofy names you have given Pokémon?

Through my recent run of Pokemon Platinum I nicknamed all of my Pokemon. I just name mine whatever seems relevant or if it is a Pokemon that i catch a lot of for example, Woopers, I will just give them regular people names like Billy or John. Really my only name mistake in my most recent run was I caught a Tropius and named it BananaMan. It wasn't until after I had beaten the Elite Four when I realized that BananaMan was actually a BananaWoman. That is probably the biggest nickname mistake I have made besides back when I was younger I used to nickname my Pokemon what their evolved forms would be and I nicknamed a Venonat I caught "Butterfree" because I forgot that Venonat isn't the one who evolved into Butterfree (even though it makes so much sense.)

I named my pokemon as Abby, as I love this name.
