Pokémon Sword and Shield will be getting an Expansion Pass, coming in two parts, in June 2020 and Fall 2020. The Expansion Pass will feature new Pokémon and Gigantamax forms, returning old Pokémon, new areas to explore, new clothing items and more! The Pass will be $30 DLC and will grant you access to both parts when they become available. There will be a free update for anyone who does not get the Expansion Passes so they can still trade the Pokémon that are going to become newly available too.
Starting now, you are also able to get version 1.1.0 of Sword/Shield as a free update which lets you do a small beginning of the story in Wedgehurst Station, and get yourself a Galarian Slowpoke. More details here: https://swordshield.pokemon.com/en-us/e ... ial-bonus/
What do you guys think? Are you planning to get the Expansion Pass? Are you upset they aren't releasing a new game instead? Tell us what you think!
Personally, I am on board with this idea. The constant new game (and therefore a new start, with new Pokémon and essentially abandoning your old team and items and everything) was getting tiring for me. I'm all about the idea of getting to continue the story and getting fresh new content in the same game. $30 seemed steep as first, but it's essentially a new chunk of game for another year (and maybe longer!), so I think it's a fair price.

I bought it as soon as I got home. I thought it was $30 for each piece of DLC but was surprised to find that the it was $30 for all of it. I’m really excited for more content! And personally I’m glad that they chose DLC over a third game.

So I've been a little busy with other stuff the past two nights, so I haven't played that much, but so far I'm really enjoying the Isle of Armor. There are so many little areas to explore and things to do, and the little "quality of life" improvements all around are nice too.
