Today, I decided to make my own playthrough of Super Metroid (Because I love the series)

So, booted up the emulator, edited controls and stuff like that, started a new save, and I am greeted to an intro of what happened, starting with the line, "The last metroid is in captivity, the galaxy is at peace..." later, the last of the cutscene stated that Samus had picked up a distress call from the Ceres Station (basically a research facility). After the cutscene, She went off to the station to see what's up. Once I get there, ominous noises are playing in the background. I practiced using the controls, after I felt I was ready, I moved on. One of the rooms, there were a couple of dead scientists (rest in peace), so of course, I knew something no good was up. After a long hallway, I saw the little metroid, I couldn't interact with him, then all of the sudden, Ridley appears, carrying the metroid and letting out a loud roar, whilst upbeat music started to play. My heart started to race, so I started shooting at him. He was pretty tough, and I ended up getting hit a lot. I thought to myself, "Wow, this is a pretty tough first boss, how many times will it take for me to beat him?" Once I got down to 26 health left, I saw him fly off in the background and a message displayed saying "Emergency, Self destruct sequence activated, evacuate colony immediately" with a 2 minute timer starting and the music getting more panic-inducing. I got really scared so I start sprinting off. There were a couple hazards falling down at me, and the place started tilting to the side. Luckily, I made it to the elevator in time so I escaped.

Next, it showed a cutscene of Samus flying off to Zebes. When I got there, I was greeted to an open area with atmospheric music playing, so I decide to explore a little. I went right and saw a rock-covered wall, so I decide to go left. There was a cave entrance and I thought to myself, "Yep, this is the way". I go through there and saw a couple of bugs scattering about. I find a drop, and decide to go explore a little more. I find a couple different doors, one of them I thought I had to go through, and there was a small crevice I couldn't go through, so I go back. I finally make it to a door that goes down, I go down through there, and once I do, there is a steep drop with different steps scattered all about. I decide to go through the side, which is the fastest way. Once I go down there, I go through yet another hallway, this time with obstacles I need to jump over, then I go down an elevator, and finally, I end up at this area, so I go left, jump over a few things, and find the morph ball power up. Then what I thought were just decorations turn towards me and a light is shown at the player. I got a little nervous, but I let it slip by. I then go the other direction, find another door and a drop. I go down through the drop and end up at what we call the "Y cant metroid crawl" area. A.K.A this place Image

I use the morph ball and go through there, and I find a statue holding an item. I grab it, and I get the "Missile" Powerup. I go back up and I go through the pink door. I am greeted with another hallway, and there was an extra missile container, so I got to carry around 10 missiles instead of 5. After going there, I decide to head back up and go through those areas I hadn't been to. Once I went up the elevator, there was more ominous music playing. I decide to head out of the room and what do I get waiting out for me? The space pirates! Not to mention that they were shooting at me! Yay! Okay, so I head out and go back to the step area, and I find more of these guys, but this time, they were on the wall and jumping around. Man, it took me a while to get back up into the cave area. Not to mention I fell down a long way and had to make it all the way up again. Once I got back into the cave, there were a couple of bugs walking around (this time they were dangerous) So i start going to those rooms I couldn't, and in one of those rooms, there was this annoying guy who kept jumping out at me, and he was a little harder to kill. Later, I find a save room and a map room (which is good). I was having a lot of fun playing this (Unlike that one time where I played other M from that one time my cousins brought over their wii). So after a little while, I go into this "item room" with only 4 missiles, so I grab the item, and I saw the statue came alive and started attacking me. He was also really hard, it took me a good 4 times before I finally was able be to defeat him. After that, I was rewarded with a whole bunch of missiles and health. So, I continued on my way.

I made it to Brinstar, and the music changed to a much more happy and "let's go explore" feeling, which I was pretty glad about. A lot of the enemies had a lot more health, I found 2 more missile containers, and even an extra energy tank. I ended up finding this room with a whole bunch of statues.

(I'm going to end it here right now, I'll continue some time later)

Wow. I am amazed by this.
I never played Super Metroid, but it seems fun.
Technical stuff.
What emulator are you using?
Are you using a controller?

Super Metroid is fun, even though I haven't even gotten that far into the game, but I paused for now because of school stuff
I'm using Snes9x, it was complicated to use at first, but I soon got the hang of it, but I am just using my keyboard

I also use Snes9x. Did you know they have a mobile version on the app store?
I been mainly using the app version lately.
The on screen controls only really work for RPGs, but I have a controller I can connect to it.
I mainly used my controller for the Earthbound run.

This is quite interesting! I have a friend who loves a specific Metroid game (forgot the name of it) and my brother has played this one before I believe, it looks very familiar in the meme that you had provided in a much earlier post.
