Hello people of Polliwager! I'm BeetleKid, but I also go by Tryhard (that's my name on a lot of other sites at least). I've been on a mission to find new sites to hang out on for a while, but even more so with the world's current situation ahaha. I'm still looking for a place to make my permanent home!

I'm a college student and tend not to be as active online early in the week because of that. I love bugs, and would like to perhaps become an entomologist someday! While a lot of my time is taken up by college, I spend much of my free time practicing art. I like drawing the most, but also enjoy sculpting, painting, scrapbooking, and sewing! I only post my digital art right now, my DeviantArt is here if you're interested.

I'm also a huge weeb! My favorite animes are Toilet-bound Hanako-San and Soul Eater. I'm also very fond of My Hero Academia and Attack on Titan (Just started season 4).

My favorite pokemon is Mismagius, followed by Gengar. I have a fondness for ghost types. I'm not sure that I have a favorite pokemon game, but I really like pokemon black/white, and the current-gen. (The dynamax music during the champion battle really gets me pumped!)

I'm on a bunch of other sites, but go inactive on them every once in a while.
Dappervolk, Wolvden, Pixpet are some that I'm checking more frequently right now
I have accounts on loads more though

That's all I can think of for now!

I hope you find a nice place here to hang out! We aren't the most active but that fluctuates on a day to day basis too. Perhaps you can share your art in our Creativity Corner forum! Bugs are neat.

@PoisonIvey1998 likes a lot of different anime I think! Maybe you two can chat about that. I'm not into any of that really haha.

Black and White are some of my favorite games too. B2W2 I still think are among the top games ever made.

@slix I've heard good things about B2W2, but I've never gotten around to playing it. Maybe I'll try to grab a copy this year.

I think pokemon black is my favorite because when I played it for the first time, It was one of the best looking games I had ever played. I spent a long time in pinwheel forest because I thought it was so cool XD. Even still I think it has some of the most interesting areas out of all the games. Like Castelia city, which actually feels densely populated, something later games failed at in their big cities. It's also one of the most memorable games to me. I remember loving pokemon x, but don't feel much attachment to it anymore.
So overall I like it because of childhood nostalgia and the fact that it's just cooler than the others hahaha. Oh, and it also introduced a lot of pokemon I love!

Heyo, welcome to Poliwager! I'm Ice, I think bugs are pretty cool too. What's your favorite bug? I like orchid mantises and comet moths. Here's a picture for you.

Also as a side thing I'm very close to finishing Pokemon White. I think it also has to be one of my favorite pokemon games next to HeartGold. I think that it is a pretty outstanding game and stands out from the other Pokemon games. What was your team on Gen V?

@Icefox101 My favorite bug is the Goliath Beetle (my avatar XD) followed closely by the Hercules Beetle

Orchid mantises are so gorgeous!

As for my team, I'm not sure what it was on my first playthrough. I've restarted it a few times since the first play (I've actually started it again since joining haha). I had tepig as my starter. As for the rest of the team, I want to say that I had musharna, minccino, and watchog. I remember picking up a timber, because I couldn't beat the normal gym's watchog, but I'm not sure if it stayed with me. I have no clue about the last one though. Maybe Audino, I wasn't great about type coverage XD. I just picked pokemon I thought were cute.

What team are you using?

As of my team right now, I currently have Samurott, Whimsicott, Archeops, Reuniclus, Haxorus, and a Bisharp (I'm on victory road, side note). I had a pansear for a while, but I swapped him out for archen. I caught pokemon that I thought was cool and would help me with the gyms. I was stuck on the eighth gym for a while because of Iris' Haxorus. I ended up grinding for a bit until I felt like I could beat her.

Not going to lie. The parts I got stuck on the most was the second gym, and right before victory road? I wanna say. I can't remember my team, but on the second one I pretty much only used Zoroark. Hey, even after the game with a full legendaries team, I still used Zoroark. I remember trying so hard in the first one to get a Zorua, so getting him in the second was awesome. I even used him in my Sun and Moon run. He just obliterates the final pokemon boss thing.
