There's no specific section of the forum for it, but I'm wondering if anybody here enjoys any of the non-videogame type of RPGs?
I'm personally a big fan of Pathfinder, unofficially known as Dungeons and Dragons 3.75th edition. I'm relatively new to it (playing for a few months now) but I've got to say it's fun.
Honestly if you can get a good, creative, fair GM (that's game master) in charge of your game the possibilities open up far more than videogame RPGs do. Actually being the GM is fun too if you enjoy story writing/telling. Plus it's social interaction with real people, and it's fun.

I can't do play-by-post RPGs. Mainly because I like controlling every aspect of a story meaning I do it all myself and that's not how a posting RPG works
But there are some pretty sweet posting RPGs online. The ones that usually do really well are ones with a big universe to play in, like Star Wars.

Depends what type of play-by-post. If you're the GM you should technically be able to control every aspect of the story except what the other players decide to do. Unless you mean you want to control their actions too?

Then maybe just plain writing is a better choice than GMing in your case. XD
What about being a player? That can be fun too assuming you get a good GM.

Yep, that's why I have my fanfiction!
Eh, most RPs are really awkward to get into if you're not there from the beginning. I'm just not interested enough to actually try looking for a RP that is just starting out.

Ah, that's very true. I generally either only join new RPs or start my own.
It's not often you find stuff just about to start that matches your interests either, so I when I join a game often it's a tabletop one here at home rather than online.
